This meeting was only one day after the creation of BOE #7 and or 7A.  The communities effected by this plan really rallied and sent in a lot of emails and showed up in force.  After reviewing the more complete staff reports, found under the 11-7-12 summary on this website, the board concluded the plans were not workable, and would be kept for the record, but not acted on.  As far as the TSES / SFES community goes plan #7/7A was not good.  SFES would have a capacity of around 127% after the move, and TSES would have FARM concentrated to near 60%.  Not to mention all the transporation impact of moving the 240 students from Hopewell Island and Sewell's Orchard Islands to SFES.  This would add probably 5 buses to their morning experience which seems new impossible with SFES's ultra small bus loop.

the board worked on two more plans during this work session.  The first was plan 8, which took AAC plan L10, and made a series of moves to respond to citizen input.  This plan ended up moving a lot of students, at nearly 2,500 students.  The plan was shelved at the meeting to work on a lower student movement plan.

The next plan, BOE #9, took plan #1a, and made a few incremental movements to shore up some weaknesses in #1a.  This plan has a much lower movement count at nearly 1,800 students.  Staff was asked to give #9 a full report workup for evaluation at the next planning meeting 11-13-12.  The final vote will be taken on 11-15-12.
